School started here in Gainesville, Florida. I have a young friend going back to High School and I shall be praying for her to stand strong as a Christian. During the summer Emily and I had a chance to talk about life in the schools and the lifestyles most teenagers lead. When I was in High School, in the 70s, many teenagers were sleeping around and did not care about the consequences. It took a strong faith in Christ and fear of God and His Word to resist temptation and save myself for my wedding night, which I did and have a blessed marriage of 28 years because of that decision. But today the pressure is much greater.
Emily is an outgoing friendly girl, and talks to a lot of people. She told me that in all of her acquaintances and friends she has met in the schools she has attended, she knows of only three girls, including herself, who have not been sleeping with boyfriends since Middle School. The other girls who have kept themselves from fornication are extremely shy and awkward socially. This is the world we live in today. So much freedom and open acceptance of this lifestyle starting so young! But a radical teenager standing for the truth and God’s Word, and living it, has an amazing testimony and witness. Emily will make an impact and bring many to Salvation through Christ.
We need to pray for and encourage the next generation. The world is changing fast and we all need to stay in the fight for God’s truth, which never changes.
