The women of Dove World Outreach Center are “Sarah’s daughters.”
“like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.” 1 Peter 3:6
We strive to do what is right and not to let our hearts give way to fear. People all around us are won for the Kingdom of God, brought to faith in Jesus Christ, drawn into a deeper revelation of His love and care when they see the “purity and reverence of our lives.” Our beauty comes from our “inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle quiet spirit, of great worth in God’s sight”. We make ourselves beautiful by putting our hope in God. We are submissive to our own husbands, to Jesus our Lord, to His Word, to the church, the body of Christ.
This blog is about the apostle Peter’s radical instructions to women (in 1 Peter 3:1-6), to live a life of trust and humility, to reject the path of fear and pride, that wide road that only leads to destruction and death. These instructions run through the whole Bible, the Word of God, from Genesis to Revelation, from Eve’s place as Adam’s helper, through Christ’s life as a servant who made himself nothing and gave everything for us, to our many instructions throughout the apostle’s letters to prepare ourselves to be the bride of Christ.
